The Historic Preservation Commission was established by Ordinance 544.

Powers and Duties of the Historical Preservation Commission.
A. Survey and inventory community historic resources.
B. Review proposed nominations to the National Register of historic places.
C. Provide advice and information.
D. Enforce State Historic Preservation Laws.
Meetings are held at least twice a year, but are usually held quarterly. Meetings are conducted in accordance with the Open Public Meeting laws of Utah.
