The Detectives Division is tasked with investigating all serious crimes. The Division handles all suspicious deaths, burglaries, thefts, forgeries, fraud, property crimes, computer crimes, sex crimes, child abuse and domestic violence cases. The Detectives process crime scenes for evidence, conduct undercover operations and surveillance, and conduct subject/suspect interviews and interrogations. The Division is also responsible for logging in all evidence. In addition, the Detectives are instrumental in providing training to citizens, schools, local business and service groups on such subjects as domestic violence, identity theft, and crime prevention. The Detectives are also responsible for fingerprinting.
