Curbside Recycling is Coming to Brigham City!

Under the direction of Mayor Tyler Vincent, and in response to community requests, the City Council directed Public Works to move forward with curbside recycling. Cans will be delivered sometime after October. The Council also authorized an opt out for residents if they choose not to participate. If you choose not to participate, residents will need to come to City Hall at 20 North Main and sign an opt out form to NOT participate. With the ease of curbside recycling, the bins located at the Recycling Site on 820 N. Watery Lane will be removed. All opt-out forms need to be submitted no later than September 15, 2017 by 5:00 pm.

The cost per household per month, based on City-wide participation will be:

50% or greater participation - $5.70
40-49% - $6.34
30-39% - $7.09

Blue cans will be picked up bi-weekly. The contracted company providing this service is going to make every effort to have them picked up on the same day as black cans. Items that are allowed in the blue can are: plastic, aluminum, paper and cardboard. NO glass or green waste. Green cans will still be available. Once we move through the opt out phase the contractor will deliver fliers giving more specifications on what is and is not acceptable.

If you choose to keep your can, you are required to keep it at least a year. If you sign the opt-out form and decide to participate at a later date, call City Hall and one will be delivered.
